My company Usability Resources, Inc. provides User Experience (UX) Research, Training, and Research Panel development. I help you and your team create products that your target audience understands and enjoys using. With over 30 years of experience in UX, clients hire me to both deliver UX Research and boost their team’s ability to understand their customers through UX/Design Thinking training and helping them build their own UX Research panel.
User Experience/UX Consulting
I create customized research that is tailored to your budget and the unique needs of your product. I am skilled in a range of technology-driven and conventional methods that include in-depth interviews, in-home studies and beta testing, user walkthroughs, focus groups, diary studies and online communities. I will often combine methods to deliver a complete picture of the end user experience in context across time.
Usability Testing
Clients hire me for traditional and mobile usability testing when they need objective, practical, and detailed feedback on their product from real end users. I know how to get test participants to open up about what they love and don’t like about your product. You will see the areas of your product design that confuse and frustrate people, don’t match their workflow, as well as those areas that are completely intuitive.
I can provide a complete end-to-end research service that includes recruiting, moderation, analysis and synthesis of results and project management. When you work with me, you gain empathy for the end user as well as practical insights on how to make your products and services more user-friendly for your target audience.
User Experience Training
Boost your team’s design productivity with Usability Resources’ customized training! In addition to consulting I also train teams in User Experience research and design methods. My classes give product teams a common vocabulary and set of methods that helps them incorporate UX into their standard way of doing things. The training is tailored to your team’s specific UX knowledge needs and covers Design Thinking and Jobs to be Done as these are very similar to the User Experience process.
Here is a link to descriptions of my most popular classes: Fundamentals of Usability Testing, User Experience (UX) Research, and Design Thinking. These classes can be taught virtually or on-site. I can also deliver the material via an “on the job” training model where the instruction is integrated into an actual project.
User Research Panel Development
As our world becomes digital, products and services must deliver a good user experience. So user research and usability testing have become critical components of product design. So UX teams must have access to qualified participants for their studies to create successful products. Seeing this emerging and critical need, I have developed a new service where I work with UX teams to help them build their own user research panel.
